Bukovel Ski Resort is located in the very picturesque mountainside village of Polyanytsya in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains. The village is also known as Polyanitsa, Polianytsia, Polyanicya or Poljanytsja. The ski resort and village are situated in The Carpathian National Reserve (CNR) which was founded in 1980 to protect the unique areas of natural importance. The CNR serves not only
to preserve the cultural and natural heritage of the region, but also as an area of local and international tourism which covers an area of 50,303 hectares.
Polyanytsya is a rapidly developing village because of the Ski Resort now situated in it. As a result more lovely privately owned hotels, guest houses and bed and breakfasts are being built to cater for the those visitors who would rather stay slightly off the ski resort. These lovely properties are generally cosily traditionally made of timber and are extremely comfortably and well furnished. They offer all the facilities and comforts to ensure you have a wonderful skiing holiday at Bukovel.
Our Polyanytsya hotels and bed and breakfast cottages are generally all within a few kilometers of Bukovel Hotel and Bukovel Ski Resort. Some are located near some of Bukovel's Ski Lifts. Horse drawn carts operated by villagers transfer guests from their village accommodation to the ski resort for those who prefer not to walk for a very nominal charge.
